The Short Story:

I DJ'd for one of the biggest stars in music history, stepped on Carl Perkins' blue suede shoes, started up a world-changing CNN, played keyboards with Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, "hung out" with James Brown in prison and deconstructed 12 women during 70 hours of plastic surgery for one of the wildest reality shows ever made.

THE LONGER STORY

I've spent over 20 years producing programming for CNN, VH1, ABC, NBC and Fox Networks.  Many of those years driving pop culture trends as Executive Producer of CNN’s Entertainment News unit.  I picked up 4 awkwardly cute Emmy statues during my marketing tenure over the last 10 years creating image spots for ABC and NBC (and sometimes the scary “how bacteria in your bed sheets can kill you” news reports).

I am a life-long gadget geek, computer hobbyist and avid technologist in my other life.  As creator of ClubJumpr, the "Nielsens of Nightlife" app and website, my engineers and I figured out how to track crowds at bars and restaurants in real-time and predict their popularity and occupants weeks in advance.  I worked with great teams in Los Angeles, Moscow and Minnesota of all places.  Gotta love the digital subdivide. Couldn’t close a second round of funding but it was an amazing experience. 

I really got to have fun playing out my every gadget whim as creator of the “Toy Box” for CNN in the bustling days of the first dot com boom, covering every new toy you could imagine.  I also hop-scotched the world as a travel writer for CNN.com.  Really fun.

 My love of “clubjumping” is not without precedent.  As a young club DJ, I got to hang out with Michael Jackson over several weeks spread over a couple years.  Talking to that guy was an experience I'll never forget. Funny enough, I wrote my first ever promo on a hotel notepad and it was voiced by Michael Jackson, who proclaimed "Jack is my favorite DJ."  That was cool. And very surreal.

Oh, and I’m a drummer, keyboard player (aspiring), complete music software geek/engineer, dub edit DJ, photographer and iPad sketch “artist.”  Hey, undo is really cool.
